Inspired by some of the Christmas presents in my life, the Grace Hat is a stunning hat that’s a joy to knit. A simple pattern that looks anything but, this knitting pattern can be completed in two days. This means, it’s a perfect option for last minute gifts!

Behind the Pattern:

Walking through the isles of Joann Fabrics, I found myself standing in front of this yarn…again. I’ve loved this yarn, but haven’t found the right pattern for it until now. I snagged it in a few different colors including pink and this purple. I knew that there would be someone in my life and on my gift list that would love it as much as I do.

And there is! But I won’t be able to report on how much they love it until Christmas Evening.

A big part of the inspiration for this pattern is my Snow White Christmas Tree Skirt. It got me back into bobbles and braided cables which form the basis of this hat.

The Yarn:

I’ve already told you I’ve fallen in love with this yarn but I haven’t quite told you what it is. You’ll need two skeins of Buttercream Luxe Angel Hair yarn. The softness is what really won me over but the yarn looks fabulous in this hat pattern.

The colors are soft and sweet, much like the yarn itself. I used about a skein and a half to make the smaller version of the hat. You’ll need at least a full two skeins to make the larger version.

Other Bits and Bobbles:

This hat pattern calls for a US Size circular needle, or you can opt for a set of double pointed needles in the same size. The yarn itself calls for a US Size 10 but I like to size down to get a warmer and tighter knit.

You’ll also need something to cable with. Many knitters like to use cable needles but I use a spare double pointed needle in the same size as the needle used for the hat. In this case that’s a US Size 8!
