Spring Blossoms Hat
Delicate flowers form this functional free Spring Blossoms pattern
Using knit below’s to make a delicate yet warm hat. This pattern is fully written out so experience with charts is not required. I’ve tried to describe everything as simply as possible so that someone who has never knit below, could pick up this Spring Blossoms pattern and complete it.
I’m a huge fan of this hat, not just because I worked the pattern but for two reasons: the first is that is looks beautiful and I’m so happy with the way that the pattern turned out, and second is because this pattern pulls in pieces and things that I have learned from a few other patterns.
It’s always enjoyable to feel your own progression as a knitter, and if you have not yet tried knitting below or this blossom/dandelion stitch before, I hope you’ll feel the same way about this pattern.
This pattern is the result of a triangular shawl that I was working on when I first fell in love with the knit below skill. After working it flat, I had to try it in the round. And while the first version of this beautiful hat was an utter failure when it came to sizing, it was a gorgeous color and gave me some great imagery to use (its the header image for my facebook page).
This pattern is available on Etsy here, and on LoveKnitting here.
Yarn: Less than 1 skein of Caron Simply soft in the color of your preference. I’m loving this beautiful orange right now. It reminds me of the bright yet soft colors of sherbet. Caron’s simply soft yarn is great to work with as its soft and easy to knit with. It’s also machine washable, and can be thrown in the dryer on the tumble dry setting.
