Seed Stitch Blanket Sprouts Blossoms
A fun and frilly addition that makes the Seed Stitch Blanket even dreamier
Before the chaos of the wedding started, I had the chance to connect with a knitter, named Guneet, over a baby blanket pattern of mine called the Seed Stitch Blanket. I was excited to meet (even virtually) her, as we share a love for knitting and playing with patterns. Its a simple yet pretty baby blanket made from a soft and supple acrylic yarn. Guneet wanted to make the seed stitch blanket for a new baby girl. I just received an email from this fiber artist, updating me on what she created with the pattern and I’m over the moon! Its absolutely adorable.
The Inspiration for Sprouting Blossoms
The story is super dreamy. The little girl is half Japanese, named Sakura after her maternal great-grandmother. Sakura was also born during the cherry blossom season – how sweet and beautiful is that story? So to honor this little new bundle of joy, Guneet added a bit of stitching to the Seed Stitch Blanket, of a cherry tree branch with blossoms.
The blanket turned out adorably and I’m so excited to share it with you! The yarn Guneet chose is a soft grey that makes the cherry tree branch and blossoms pop on the blanket. To match the blanket, she also made a sweet headband! Its such a joy to see what people are able to do with the patterns that you create. This is one of my favorite stories – when a pattern inspires another creative soul, to create something beautiful.
Whether you’re working with one of my patterns, or creating your own, I’d love to see what you’re working on! If you have any questions, or are having trouble with something? Send me an email and let’s work it out together!
