Have You Reached SABLE?
SABLE is a New Knitting Acronym that Means “Stash Accumulation Beyond Life Expectancy”
I just about spit coffee all over my lap top when I first read this one. Has anyone else heard of this level of stash-building yet? While I don’t think I have quite reached SABLE yet my husband might disagree with me on this one.
I have to know – Have you reached SABLE yet? How do we even know how much yarn is necessary to reach this point?
Is there a favorite yarn that you just find yourself buying again and again? Is it the shop/maker, the color, the fiber content?
What’s in my Stash?
For me, it’s color and what I can use the yarn for. Recently my stash seems to be accumulating acrylic hat yarn. Its no wonder after all, that’s what I love to knit.
Some of my favorites are Premier Yarns Anti-Pilling yarns. These are super soft. When they start pilling (getting fuzzy) you just take off the pompom and pop them in the washing machine. They come out looking brand new because the loose fibers are designed to just wash away. They have some amazing colors available too!
Another recent favorite is Paintbox Yarns. One of the reasons aside from the quality of the yarn and the color options, is the easy and affordable ability to buy in bulk. They conveniently have larger sized quantities prepackaged and ready to go.
Is there a Project that You Love to Knit Over and Over?
Do you love to knit socks? Scarves? Or are you a mad hatter like me? Let’s bond over our stashes and share your answers in the comments of this post.
It’s funny, as I heard this term when I was working on a few stash busters. Maybe I was approaching this new knitting status? One of theses is actually a crochet project for face scrubbers as I have some cotton yarn left over.
