What You’ll Need

Darning needle for weaving in ends.
Let’s Knit Your Rabbit Tracks Hat!
Small: Cast on 80 Stitches.
Medium: Cast on 88 Stitches.
Large: Cast on 96 Stitches.
Place your Stitch Marker, and join your work. Be careful not to twist your cast on edge.
For the Brim:
Knit through the back loop twice, Purl twice. Repeat these two steps (four stitches) until you reach the end of the round.
Repeat this round until your brim is the desired height. I’ve chosen to knit this half twisted rib pattern for 9 rounds total including the set up round you just knit.
For the Rabbit Tracks Hat
Make sure you have your contrasting color handy as we’ll need that in just a minute.
For the first round, knit all of the stitches in the main hat color.
Round 1: Knit 1 with Color B, Knit 3 with color A. Repeat these 4 stitches until you have completed the round.
Round 2: Knit every stitch with color A.
Round 3: Repeat Round 2.
Round 4: Knit 2 with Color A. Knit 1 with Color B, Knit 3 with Color A. Repeat your last four stitches until you have completed the round.
Round 5: Knit every stitch with Color A.
Round 6: Repeat 6.
Repeat the last 6 rounds until the hat is your desired height.
Decrease Section:
Round 1: Knit 2 Together. Repeat this step until you have completed the round.
Round 2: Repeat Round 1.
For larger sizes you may need to knit 1 to 2 additional decrease rounds.
Break your yarn and using your darning needle, thread it through the remaining live stitches. Cinch these tight. Knot your yarn and weave in your yarn tails using the darning needle.
You can add an optional pompom or tassel depending on your personal preferences. This is a picture of how I attach removable pompoms to my hats. This makes them easier to wash and care for!
