New Bundle, Home, and Blanket Pattern!
Loads of Developments for This Family
It’s not enough that we’re pregnant. We have decided to build a house, on top of our day jobs, hobbies, and raising our toddler. There are loads of developments happening for this family! It actually feels like we add a new one for every development that we cross off. So of course, I would find this a great time to design a new baby blanket knitting pattern.
New Bundle:
We’re just about 24 weeks along with baby number two! We are so excited that we can barely contain ourselves. The three of us cannot wait to meet her…the dog, well he’s less than enthused. Our ultrasound went very well and we learned that this little one is most likely a girl! I’m excited to break out the bows and ruffles on top of all of the other gender neutral stuff that we already have. Stay tuned for loads of new projects for this new bundle of joy! I’ve got a lot planned!
New Home:
We officially said goodbye to Das Haus as we closed last week. It was a bittersweet moment as we paused to take in all of the memories and things we have accomplished since we first made it our home. We just had an inspection done on the new home and will, fingers crossed, be closing and moving in next week!
I plan on making a bunch of posts and videos about the house and the ways in which we customize it and make it our own. We built with Ryan and have been pretty happy with the whole process. Picking a builder like this hems you into a few design decisions like flooring, wall paint, etc. So we have been planing a number of updates in which we can encapsulate our personality in this new home…I’ve already bought the paint for a mural in the new baby’s room and am honing in on what I need for our baby bear’s room.
New Baby Blanket Pattern
Let’s be honest, this is what most of you have stuck around to hear! As if being pregnant, building a home, moving, running a business, and keeping a toddler alive wasn’t enough, I decided it was a great time to make a new pattern. But you know me! Truth be told, I’ve been in a little bit of a funk when it comes to knitting. Between being pregnant and not feeling well, and a failed (well almost failed) attempt at a neckwarmer pattern, I haven’t felt very creative. Selling Das Haus gave me the burst of energy I needed to jumpstart my creativity back up.
This blanket is called the Avery Baby Blanket. No, we haven’t named the baby Avery. The name comes from the inspiration for this pattern, the Avery Hat Pattern. I wanted a relatively simple knit pattern with lots of texture. I’ve been meaning to do more with this simple lattice pattern and this is a great application for it! At first it might feel a bit clunky but after a repeat or two, you might not even need to reference the pattern anymore!
Yup! New bundle, new home, and now new baby blanket pattern coming soon! Please email me if you are interested in testing this pattern. I need you to be able to complete the blanket and send clear photographs in order to test.
