My New Favorite Knitting Spot

Well same spot, new bench!

Our little ranch home has a darling little front porch. Growing up my mom and I always wished our front porch was a little larger so that we could sit outside during the rain. We had a small one where we would all cram together in the doorway and enjoy the rain. Their house in the mountains, where they live now has a lovely front porch and it’s one of our favorite spots. So when we found this house with a gem of a front porch I was hooked, it’s my new favorite knitting spot!

When we first moved, we had a little chair and table on the porch, it worked well but the dog was always asking to sit with me or taking my chair. Now that we’ve been in the home for a little over a year, we decided it was time to look for something that fit us all and the porch a bit better. Off to wayfair!

How we found this new favorite knitting spot

We waited until around the Fourth of July to purchase a bench as we knew there would be some decent sales. And we were right. Wayfair had a great sale. Now all we needed to do was find the right bench, aka my new favorite knitting spot. So we drove around to other home stores in our area and tried out some benches, took measurements, and discussed different styles. Our home is very mid century modern meets rustic – somehow it works out really well.

After a little searching on the site, we found the one. We just had one final measurement to take. The three of us, (my husband, myself, and the dog) squeezed into the love seat inside and to make sure the three of us could fit. And it worked! So we ordered the bench! A few days later my husband and dad put it together and carried up to the front porch. It was perfect! And the dog loved it too! Now it’s my favorite spot to knit and his favorite spot to lounge.

No seriously, Murphy will actually ask me to go out and sit on the bench with him in the morning. And if I don’t oblige quickly enough, he starts demanding.
