My Knitting Needles Are Changing with the Seasons

Everything has a season they say, apparently the same is true for my knitting needles.

When you first pick up knitting, almost any knitting needles will do, and if it doesn’t require much of an investment, that’s even better.  When I first started, I purchased what was available at the big craft stores like Michaels and Joann Fabrics.

I had learned to knit through YouTube and had no one to show me any other way. My grandmother crocheted and passed away before I had acquired the patience required to learn.  At some point you become hooked on the craft, as I did, and start looking around for other options.

I continued to learn and seek out different resources, both online and eventually at local yarn stores.  I found KnitPicks and fell in love with their multicolored, smooth wooden knitting needles.  I even purchased a few of their square circular and double pointed needles.  You can find my initial thoughts about them here

Recently though, due to copious amounts of knitting, some of my KnitPicks circulars’ tips are starting to show signs of wear, causing friction and slowing the process.  While I was knitting the Fall Vines Cowl, I stoped into Bo Peep Fine Yarns in Ligonier. There I was introduced to Chiagoo’s.  And I now love them too.

To be fair, I haven’t had enough time to really torture test the Chiagoo’s and put them through the same amount of knitting as the KnitPicks knitting needles.  So far, they’re a dream to knit with though.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments:

Have you tried either of these knitting needle brands?

What was your experience?

Have you tried any other’s that are worth testing out?
