My First Baby Blanket is Finished!
Well it’s not the first baby blanket that I’ve made, but it’s the first that I’m making for myself.
This is a weird feeling. I’ve made many baby blankets in the past, from simple to complex. It’s always been a joy to gift them and see how well loved they are. When I designed the Andalusian Baby Blanket, I knew that this was the one (or one of the ones) that I wanted to make for our new baby. Lots of things got in the way of this blanket being completed, but it’s finished now! My first baby blanket is finished!
The yarn for this anti-pilling worsted weight yarn from Premier Yarns.
I’m glad that the blanket is done but part of me feels a bit empty. It’s like there’s the nagging “Now what?” question nagging at my brain. Obviously there will be more baby knits, but I’m wondering what to try next, what to make next. Now that this first baby blanket is finished, and I have some extra yarn, I might make something to match. But I don’t know.
For the past two days, a new wave of exhaustion and a headache has hit me pretty hard. I haven’t been doing much of anything. And as you can imagine, it’s driving me a little crazy. I’m hoping that tomorrow I’ll be back to normal and working on one of my projects again.
Somebody else was happy that I finished my first baby blanket as well!
Don’t worry folks, Murphy was recently bathed so not only is he a nice clean pupper, but the yarn is machine washable and dry-able. With a solid 6 months until our due date we have plenty of time to freshly launder this baby.
