Modified Tracks in the Snow
A worsted take on the formerly chunky cabled shawl with garter ridges
For Christmas this year, I knit three shawls using Hygge, a chunkier yarn. I fell in love with every single one of them. But, I’m out of the yarn and had a good bit of worsted weight from Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice on hand. So I decided to try one of theses shawls in a worsted weight yarn. I picked the Tracks in the Snow Shawl. The original version of this was made to my soon to be sister in law and I think she quite liked it! As for the worsted weight version, I have to say, I love the way it turned out.
I think Murphy likes it too…or at least he likes modeling it. He’s such a diva. This shawl took probably twice as long for me to knit as it needed to as I kept having to coax him from laying on it. Do you have a pet that loves to claim your WIPs for their pillows?
Yarn for the Modified Tracks in the Snow:
Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand. 5 skeins (170 yards per skein). This is an acrylic yarn so you can wash it. I chose this yarn because I envision wrapping up in this shawl around a campfire this summer. This specific shade is called “Peacock”
It brings out the color of Murphy’s eyes…and distracts from his shiner compliments of the stray cat living under our shed.
Abbreviations for the Modified Tracks in the Snow:
