Man of the Mountains Hat
A large cabled hat great for any man of the mountains
This hat was inspired by the men in my life, both by their style and because they are pretty persnikity about what kind of hats they like. For Christmas, I wanted to refresh their their hats and give them something fresh and new to wear, and that’s how I came up with the Man of the Mountains hat, using chunky cables and a folded brim to get a fit and feel they’ll love.
Like most of my hat patterns, this calls for worsted weight yarn. If you’re not familiar with worsted weight, look for medium weight or if there is a number gauge to go by, choose a number 4. This hat took just over a single skein of yarn so if you are making a man sized hat, be sure to have two skeins of the same yarn in the same dye lot. Or, you could do one color for the folded brim and one for the main section of the hat. The choice is yours!
