Man of the Mountains Hat for Newborns and Babies
Because wearing matching hats is more fun
There’s a lot of mom and baby matching outfits and accessories out there but what about dads? The other day when my husband realized that he, Fynn, and the dog had matching knits he got so excited. So I’m knitting some baby versions of the adult hats I’ve launched. This time it’s the Man of the Mountains Hat for newborns and babies!
Fun Fact: We started watching the Babies series on Netflix last night and a study they did showed that moms and dads experience the same levels of oxytocin (the cuddle hormone) when interacting with their babies.

Knitting the Man of the Mountains Hat for Newborns and Babies
Yarn:
If you have been following the blog now for a bit, I bet you can guess the yarn for this hat in just two tries…maybe even one!
If you guess, Premier Yarns Anti-Pilling worsted weight yarn in an acrylic blend, you’ve got it! You need just one skein or less (the newborn and smaller hats are great stash busters!) to knit the Man in the Mountains Hat for newborns and babies.
Needles:
I’ve stuck with one needle for the baby sized hats. In the adult version I use a smaller needle for the brim. For babies, their soft hair and delicate skin, I’ve used a US Size 7 set of DPNs.
