Last Minute Christmas Knits
Christmas Tree Ornaments
We’re preparing to have a blast over Christmas, and then sometime after that, we are traveling to see family.
As a knitter, with anxiety – especially about traveling and most importantly, leaving my dog who is my ultimate baby, and the big day right around the corner – you can imagine that there are some last minute projects being furiously whipped up. Add thy to having just bought a house and squeezing some last minute, major changes right before the holidays and right after your travels and the anxiety is amplified.
I have a few last minute gifts that I wanted to try for some of the people hosting holiday parties, and doing favors for us while we’re gone – so I found a great pattern for a quick project – Knitted Christmas Tree Ornaments by Lucky Fox Knits.
She’s got a few other patterns that are just as adorable – but I wanted to tackle this one first. You can find her designs on Crafts.com, much to my pleasant surprise with a good bit of other knitting Christmas tree ornaments and baubles. I wish I had more time before Christmas to try more of these super cute and really fun to knit patterns. Also, I’ve got a few tendons that are feeling a break from knitting and in a couple of days I’m facing a 7 hour layover, so I might take a break and work on my wedding knits then.
But, after knitting her pattern, I was so inspired that ideas just kept popping into my head. I had to take a stab at one – I’m sure this exists out there in some form after searching Crafts, but I’m pretty proud that I was able to come up with it.
It’s an out bity braided cable! I’ll post my pattern tomorrow. If you have some size 1 needles and sort weight or fine gauge yarn, this is a great pattern! It’s inspiring me to maybe think of a few more!
Like I said earlier, this stress knitting (more than just these little guys if you can believe it) has put me, or more specifically, my hands and shoulders in a bind. So I might be taking a few days off from knitting – but that doesn’t mean I can’t blog about it. I’ll be posting some free patterns that I’ve found and am working on, a free hat pattern and more coming in the next few days!
If I don’t catch you between now and then, I hope you and your family have a safe and joy filled Christmas.
Merry Christmas,
Maggie
