Knitting at the Beach is Slow Going
A week long getaway to the shore with family
This past week, I took a hiatus from almost all things digital. I stopped blogging, put down my phone for the better part of the week and spent time taking in all the things that are important to me for a week long getaway at the beach (…you know some knitting at the beach occurred). We were able to bring the dog, so there was lots of time with Murphy. My brother and his beautiful family came so we were able to make loads of new memories with him and his girls. Even my newly minted doctor younger brother was able to make it down for a weekend.
Like any trip that I take, I brought along my work in progress for some knitting at the beach. When I say that I brought my knitting, I mean that I brought more than one human could possibly knit in a week. Anyone else have that problem? You’d think that after forgetting my maid of honor’s shawl on a plane that I would have learned my lesson, but I guess it hasn’t sunk in yet.
If you’ve been following along with me, you might have seen that I am hosting my first ever KAL or Knit Along. I packed this one of course, but was so busy that I didn’t even touch it this for the whole week. I also packed some yarn that I’ve been sitting on for a while now because I have been waiting for just the right pattern to pop into my head. Well I did some googling and some pinteres-ting and found some inspiration for a new grey cabled shawl. This one I at least got a little bit of knitting at the beach done.
It was a great refresh, and now I’m ready to dive back into work, blogging, writing, knitting and all of the other awesome projects that have been swirling around this head of mine. Stay tuned for another potential knit along!
