Gretchen Hat Knitting Pattern!
The Gretchen is now available for purchase.
As my first action of the new year, I’m republishing the Gretchen Hat and this time, I’m making it free for download. You can request the copy at the bottom of the page by completing a simple form. Thank you for making 2018 my best and most exciting year yet. We have a lot to knit in 2019 and I have a feeling, it’s going to be a very fiber filled year.
Do you have ideas, requests or suggestions for patterns in 2019? You can email me those in the form below as well and together we can bring these patterns to life.
I first introduced the Gretchen Hat about in 2018.
Who is Gretchen?
She embraces winter, and enjoys catching a few snowflakes. Whether its walking to or from work, taking the dog for a romp in the snow, or catching a beer after skiing (I wear a helmet skiing and so should you.
Whether you like rip it and really crank your turns, or you’re more of a casual skier, helmets not only keep you safe from your own mistakes – but those made by others), Gretchen is a gal that enjoys time spent outdoors and the beauty of Winter.
Are you a Gretchen? Or do you have one in your life?
Make them a Gretchen knitted hat and give them the gift that fits their style as well as their life style!
The Gretchen hat pattern features knitting with two strands of yarn, which makes this hat extra warm.
It uses braided cables and knit below’s to make the hat look as good as it feels. And it offers three different sizes so that you can knit it for the guys and gals in your life.
I’ve knit the hat in two different tweeds. Any worsted weight yarn should do the trick (especially if it’s on the thinner side like Caron’s Tweeds or Simply Solids). You just need two skeins of it so that you can knit them at the same time.
Do you have any questions about the pattern? Questions about the skills or techniques involved? Or do you need help adjusting the size of the hat to get the right fit? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
