But I love knitting baby blankets, baby hats, baby sleepers, etc. Over the years, I’ve designed and offered some really sweet little free baby blanket knitting patterns. In this post, I’m pulling them together and recapping them for you!
Double Seed Stitch Baby Blanket Pattern
This is my most popular and most searched for pattern on the site, bar none. And when you check it out, it’s not hard to see why. This baby blanket is an easy to knit, quick pattern that makes a really sweet and cuddly gift. The recommended yarn is machine washable which makes your gift easier on mom and dad.
The basic components of this blanket are the double seed stitch border, and a stockinette stitch square at the center of the blanket. The color options are endless with Caron Simply Soft Yarn. I love to whip up this blanket, fold it and then roll it. I finish it off with a coordinating bow. It seriously doesn’t even need wrapped!

Andalusian Baby Blanket Pattern
This was a take off of the last pattern. The Andalusian Baby Blanket uses the Double Seed Stitch border and adds a bit of Andalusian knit stitch in the center of the blanket. It gives the blanket a bit more definition and texture, but has the same classic look and feel.
