Christmas Tree Pillow Knitting Pattern
Christmas is my favorite holiday hands down. When I came up with the pumpkin knitting pattern, immediately I wanted to do something for Christmas. It’s taken my brain a bit to work on something, but I’ve finally done it! Previously, I had made this adorable sewn ghost, and then a Christmas Tree pillow. This served as a bit of inspiration and a bit of a challenge.
What’s to Love about this Christmas Tree Pillow:
It uses chunky yarn so it knits up super quick. In fact, this pattern goes so fast, you’ll be able to knit up a few to gift this Christmas…or decorate your house in the comfiest of ways. This pattern is also pretty basic and easy to follow. I’ve fully written it out here in this post (scroll a bit and you’ll find it). You’ll need to know how to cast on, knit and purl, pass a stitch over another stitch (bind off method), and how to work the Make One Right and Make One Left Increases.
Did I say how adorable this pillow is? The tree shape is basic but effortless. It’s great for around your fire place, on your couch or even your beds! The fact that it’s totally soft, plush, and pretty indestructible make it kid friendly too! Oh, and I’ve listed it all here for you for free!
What You’ll Need to Knit this Pillow
- Two Skeins of bulky or chunky yarn.
- One US Size 10 knitting needle ( I prefer circulars but straight needles work too).
- A crochet hook, US Size L or 11 (8.0mm).
- A Tapestry or Darning Needle to sew in your yarn tails.
- Stuffing: Fiberfill or even scrap yarn and/or fabrics will work too.

Bind off all remaining stitches.
Repeat this process and make a second Christmas Tree.
Grab your crochet hook. Using the remaining yarn, crochet the two sides of the pillow together. Slip the crochet hook into one stitch from each pillow side, and crochet them together. Work all the way around the pillow until you have a small opening remaining. Stuff the pillow. Take care to work stuffing into all of the corners.
