Begin Bramble Berry Blanket Pattern:

Select your favorite worsted weight yarn. I’ve used Paint Box Yarns Simply Aran and Premier Anti-Pilling Everyday Worsted Yarn. And you’ll need a long cable knitting needle in US Size 8. I used one that’s approximately 32 inches yarn for ease of knitting. You can knit these baby blankets on straight needles but it ends up putting a lot of strain on your wrists and elbows.

I also recommend having four stitch markers handy to keep track of the borders. And additionally, as with all blankets, a pair of stitch stoppers to keep your work safe when it’s not in your hands is helpful.

To begin knitting the Bramble Berry Blanket knitting pattern, cast on 166 stitches.  Do not join these in the round. This pattern is worked back and forth.

To form the blanket border, knit twenty two rows. If you would like, you can slip the first stitch of each row knit-wise. Next, you’ll work a few rows to set up the internal border of the blanket.

Row 1: Knit to the end of the row.
